Pick to Light

McKesson Corporation is one of the largest providers of health care solutions and services in the United States. Using IDENTEC SOLUTIONS’ ILR technology, they have developed the Intellishelf-RX™ system that is currently being used to dispense medication in some of the leading hospitals in the USA.

The system is tied into a hospital’s pharmaceutical information system, and develops an e-dispensing system specific to each patient.  When workers dispense medication for specific patients, the blinking lights of the ILR tags direct the workers to appropriate medication, thereby increasing efficiency and avoiding life-threatening human error.

The system differs from traditional pick-to-light systems because it is completely wireless, thereby allowing for easy installation and customization.
